Vienna, 15 December 2011 Public call for expression of interest in casino licences enters second round Licence issue launched for so-called "provincial package"

The Federal Ministry of Finance wishes to announce that the call for expression of interest in casino licences is entering its second round. Publication information by the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) will be published in national and international media as well as on the website of the Ministry itself, where the document seeking interested parties will also be published. This document is available on the website https://www.bmf.gv.at/Gluecksspiel/InteressentensucheS_12258/12258.htm in order to ensure the greatest possible transparency.

Following the launch on 19 August 2011 of the public call for expression of interest in casino licences for six locations which may be allocated to the regional capitals, the search is now beginning for parties interested in a second package comprising a further six locations outside the regional capitals. The call for expression of interest for this package is being launched with immediate effect. The licences for the six locations now on offer will run until 31 December 2015.

Subsequently, the individual licences will be issued for the locations of South-West Vienna, North-East Vienna and Lower Austria 2, as well as for a poker hall, in separate procedures.
