Informal meeting of German-speaking finance ministers in Vaduz
On Tuesday, 23 August 2016, Adrian Hasler, Prime Minister of Liechtenstein, welcomed German-speaking finance ministers Wolfgang Schäuble of Germany, Ueli Maurer of Switzerland, Pierre Gramegna of Luxembourg and Hans Jörg Schelling of Austria to a working discussion in Vaduz. Within the framework of the meeting, which is a regular fixture, the five finance ministers had the opportunity to exchange views on the challenges and developments currently being encountered in the areas of finance and tax by individual countries, by Europe generally and indeed the entire international community.
Besides general economic and political developments in Europe, the five German-speaking finance ministers discussed international developments in terms of tax cooperation, business taxation and financial-market regulation, as well as the topic of innovation.
Next year, the meeting of German-speaking finance ministers will take place in Switzerland, hosted by Swiss Finance Minister Ueli Maurer.
