On October 12, 2007, the Ministry of Finance organized an international conference on "The Future of Company Taxation in Europe". Directorate VI/A (Tax Policy), headed by Bernadette M. Gierlinger, was responsible for the overall organisation of the conference. Representatives of the European Commission, the Member States and various stakeholders came to Vienna to discuss the CCCTB-project with domestic and international speakers.
