The Federal Academy of Finance

Learning is a key part of the organizational culture in the Ministry of Finance. The effective use of the skills and the abilities of our employees with the goal of achieving the best possible performance on behalf of the citizens of Austria is our number one priority.

In order to be able to support and foster such skills, the Directorate General I of the Ministry of Finance owns with the Federal Finance Academy (Bundesfinanzakademie, BFA) a special unit for education and training. Additionally the Academy offers a good network of modern personal development tools and technology enhanced learning methods.

The headquarters of the Academy are located at Erdbergstrasse 186-190, 1030 Vienna. The BFA also has regional branches in the cities of Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Innsbruck.

The lecturers and tutors are predominantly internal professionals. In the areas of management, social and methodological expertise, the BFA works with recognized trainers and private business institutions.

International contacts and cooperation with the European Commission/TAXUD and IOTA in the area of training ensure the employees of the Ministry the knowledge about the latest trends in the area of education and training and international learning possibilities within the scope of international programs.
