Corporate Governance

Realisation that an appropriate “Corporate Governance” (company statutes) is absolutely required for an efficient functioning of the capital markets has increased over the past few years. Corresponding measures and actions are therefore implemented in Austria as well as in the EU, which are to strengthen the confidence of investors.

Measures in Austria

With the Austrian Corporate Governance Code, the Austrian Workgroup for Corporate Governance, headed by the capital market representative, has created a body of rules and regulations for the responsible leadership and guidance of stock corporations in Austria that corresponds with national standards. This voluntary self-regulating measure is to significantly foster confidence and trust of shareholders through increased transparency, better cooperation between supervisory board, management board, and the shareholders, and an orientation towards long-term increased value.
