Trade policy

Matters of trade politics are generally becoming more important at the orientation of economy politics. The political-economic debate, too, regards the international trade policy as an important instrument for the promotion of economic growth and the welfare profits arising from it as well as the development possibilities of countries and their integration opportunities into world economy.

In the context of the inner Austrian co-ordination process for the positioning in the relevant EU committees, all departments involved have to be included in the decision making mandatorily.

The BMF actively takes part in the arranging of the Austrian positioning since, from the national economic view, fundamental interests at trade political targets are given on the one hand and material competencies of the BMF are given in numerous interface areas on the other hand. This way, the BMF makes an essential contribution to a coherent national position in interface areas of trade politics as well, but also for settling conflicts on goals.
