Customs Competence Centres

The competence centres are service units of the Austrian customs administration. In addition to their important central duties, they predominantly act as general points of information or helpdesks.

Their services include:

quickly responding to complex or technical enquiries;
quickly informing the business community of any legal or procedural changes (via the internet, newsletters, serial letters etc.);
corresponding with the central offices of other EU customs administrations.

• E-customs: specialist helpdesk primarily for economic operators

• National contact point for consultation and notification processes within the scope of issuing single authorisations:

- for simplified procedures;

- for customs procedures of economic importance;

- for special end-use.

• National contact office for consultation and information procedures for authorised economic operators

• Data exchange and declaration obligations with regard to customs authorisations (Information System for Processing Procedures –ISPP)

• Review and approval of data processing procedures in the software programs for customs warehouses

Tariff matters:

• Tariff quotas and ceilings

- Post-clearance recovery and reimbursement of duties

- Approval of sureties

• Import and export surveillance measures

• Paperless foreign trade administration
