During office hours, the tax offices and customs offices are available to citizens, companies and official bodies as a point of contact.

Data, Information and Preparation Centre

Across Austria, the Data, Information and Preparation Centre (DIAC) of the tax and customs administration can be accessed 24 hours a day as the central point of contact. The Centre’s role is to receive information, reports, complaints or other facts relevant to the tax and customs authorities and, if needed, to pass this on to the relevant agencies. Due to the Centre’s duty of confidentiality under tax law, confidential handling of information is assured.

Via the VAT ID Office of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Austrian companies can obtain confirmation of the validity of VAT references (VAT ID’s) of their EU business partners.

Questions concerning cross border posting of workers to Austria or register statement about reliability in public procurement should be addressed to the Central Coordination Office of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
