Economic Policy

Most activities of the Federal Ministry of Finance contribute to the design of the Austrian economic policy. These range from the central political-economic instrument of the public budget (budget, control) to the granting of federal liabilities, such as the support of exports up to the creation of efficient framework conditions for the Austrian finance sector and capital market.

Furthermore, the close collaboration of the Federal Ministry of Finance with various committees of the EU as well as with International Finance Institutions (IFIs) reflects the fact that the acquirement of answers to current political-economic challenges requires international co-operation.
